Student Grants
DCTribal Student Grant Program
Under the principle of education as a human right, comes art education. Regrettably, art education is the first to be eliminated or cut back from school curricula, denying people both young and old the opportunity to experience its creative power to reach and instruct. Art education that remains is often underfunded, watered down, or inaccessible, making art a privilege rather than a right.
As a network committed to promoting community building and the accessibility of dance to all, DCTribal has begun a Student Grant Program that will provide financial support to fellow dancers in need for DCTribal sponsored workshops and shows. Funds for this program come from private and public grants, fundraisers, and donations made available by foundations, the city, and all members and friends of DCTribal.
We deeply thank everyone who has contributed to the Student Grant Program. As always, your support continues to strengthen our Tribal Belly Dance community and helps deepen relationships and the roots of this dance in our region. Namaste!
